The court has directed the Centre to register defamation cases against companies which engage in fraudulent practices, including the filing of fake documents to file bankruptcy petitions.
The government’s “war on corruption” in the country, the apex court had said, was aimed at eradicating corruption and graft in the sector, but it has not yet given its directions to the courts.
The government had directed the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) to initiate investigations against companies in the past, but this has not been done.
CVC is headed by Chief Justice of India K.S. Verma, and it is headed in charge of investigating all such cases of cheating and defrauding people by filing false documents and false representations.
